  The drought has continued to ease over the last few weeks  and regions along the state's eastern border, including Amador, El Dorado, Alpine and Mono counties, have been relieved of their "moderate drought" status for the first time in years. One region in the state's north, Del Norte County, is no longer even considered abnormally dry in 90 percent of its territory. As a whole, water levels across California have shown steady signs of improvement. The state's largest reservoir, Lake Shasta, has risen by nearly 100 feet in the last two months, as per statistics from the Lakes Online database .
